INTELLIGENT PARENTING

This covers a much overlooked part of pregnancy, viz parenting during pregnancy ... yes, parenting begins during pregnancy and you will find some interesting ideas here on getting a headstart with parenting.

Intelligent Nutrition in Pregnancy

Nutrition management is one of the most important aspects of pregnancy that all of us work upon. You are eating for two and you have to take everything in the right quantity and right quality, and your baby is deriving every thing for you and you are facing constant nausea, vomiting, appetite loss and…the list goes on.

BUT HAVE YOU EVER ASKED WHY?pregnancy-diet-tips

This is because food is the life line of not only your body, but also your souls, your emotions and your reactions. Apart from the normal science of carbohydrates, proteins and calories.

There is a universal law that says that that the most nourishing diet is a diet that contains all the six tastes and a variety of colours.

The six tastes being sweet, salty, pungent, sour, bitter and astringent.

Sweet foods provide the main energy source in your food. Sources: milk and milk products, fruits, bread, pasta, rice and wheat.

Sour foods aid in digestion and stimulate appetite.

Fruits like berries, pineapple etc, tomatoes and Salty foods are sedating... Sea food and soy sauce, and pungent foods help relieve nausea, clean the respiratory passages, and are a mild laxative. It also acts as an antioxidant and helps in total metabolism balance, lowering cholesterol and building up immunity.

Ginger (very good for the control of morning sickness), cloves, cinnamon, black pepper, oregano, nutmeg, onions, garlic, radish, and chili peppers.

Bitter foods: helps in building up immunity and promoting growth. Broccoli, spinach, dill, fenugreek, chamomile, eggplant, leafy green plants.

ASTRINENT:  It dries up the mucus membranes again having a beneficial effect on the respiratory and gastric passages.

Beans and legumes, lentils, chick peas, soy beans, asparagus, spinach, pomegranates.

Also the colours of the food matters in making it more palatable and complete from the mental and physical growth purpose.
